I follow the first definition because I was "grafted". I consider myself a spiritual Israelite. Now, since this means literally to "rest", we cannot rest EVERYDAY or we would all starve. That is why YAHUAH gave us one day to rest, and the other six to work. Genesis 2:2 And on the SEVENTH day YAHUAH ended his work which He had made; and He RESTED on the SEVENTH day from all his work which He had made. Genesis 2:3 And YAHUAH BLESSED the SEVENTH day, and SANCTIFIED it: because that in it he had RESTED from all his work which YAHUAH created and made. {created... Hebrew created to make} It is HERE we see where the Sabbath originated. From the BEGINNING, it was instituted. Do you think YAHUAH would make a day special and set apart, and not tell Adam and Eve? Remember, Adam and Eve were not "born" but created! They were like blank slates! More than likely Adam and Eve kept the Sabbath, and so did Noah as he was considered "perfect" by Yahuah. I'm sure that would probably mean he kept the Sabbath, as it was made special and made set-apart. **Genesis 1:14 "And YAHUAH said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years. |
Now, here we see the REASONS why YAHUAH made the sun. He didn't make the sun simply to grow things and to keep our planet warm, but as a SIGN for seasons, and DAYS and years. If YAHUAH had only made the Sun to keep us warm and grow food, then we would never have had 7 days to a week. He gave it to us as a SIGN for seasons, days and years. Why would YAHUAH want us to know the seasons, days and years? Hmmm...... Could it be because he had a plan for us to set aside or recognize certain days, seasons or years?? All this, mind you, is BEFORE the fall of our Edenic parents into sin! Now, if He made it for Days, and He blessed and made special the 7th day, can't we be pretty sure He clued in Adam and Eve.??? |
Here are some examples of appointed times; Exodus 23"15 "Thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread:(thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month Abib; for in it thou camest out from Egypt: and none shall apear before me empty:" Numbers 9:2 "Let the children of Israel also keep the Passover at his appointed season." Numbers 9:3 "In the fourteenth day of this month, at even, ye shall keep it in His appointed season: according to all the rites of it, and according to all the ceremonies thereof, shall ye keep it." Psalms 104:19 "He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down." ***YAHUAH had planned for us to keep certain days, seasons and years for a specific purpose since the beginning. If this were not so, then why would he have given it to us as a sign for seasons, days and years? Genesis 6:9 "These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with YAHUAH.{PERFECT OR, UPRIGHT?} |
Genesis 4:3-8 3. And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto YAHUAH. 4. And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And YAHUAH had respect unto Abel and to his offering: Even though the law of sacrifices wasn't TECHNICALLY given until Exodus, we know as evidenced by Genesis 4:3-8 that sacrifices were being done as early as Cain and Abel. Obviously YAHUAH told Adam and Eve His requirements. He also must have communicated these requirements to Cain and Abel as He continued to walk and talk with them as evidenced in YAHUAH's warning to Cain, His rebuke and subsequent punishment of Cain for killing 1/4 of the human race. Therefore, with this reasoning we can (safely, I think) assume that the Sabbath, being set apart, made special, and pure was probably honored by our Edenic Parents and their subsequent generations along with the sacrifices that Abraham made LONG BEFORE the Israelites were instructed to do so in Exodus. REOCCURING WORDS >>KEEP, COVENANT, PERPETUAL. Now, we can't KEEP something unless it's first given to us right? Unless you already have something, you certainly can't KEEP it? Therefore, once again, we have proof that the sabbath was given BEFORE Sainai and it remains so through the book of Hebrews. Now, also note the punishment for NOT keeping it, DEATH. YAHUAHSHUA MESSIAH SAID, " I am master of the Sabbath." .. Hmmm... If the sabbath was done away with, then what is He master of? Hmmm... Now the next part is one of my favorites. Notice here when the disciples ask YAHUAHSHUA MESSIAH when the end times are going to be, and how they (we) would know..... Mark 2:27 "And he said unto them, the sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath." The Sabbath is a day of REST for us to stop looking at the world and look upward to YAHUAH. He loves us and knows we need a special day for just us and Him, without the worries of the world. It's a time for us to come together as his children to our Father's table as a family. It's set apart. It is RIGHTEOUS. Acts 18:4 "And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks." This is Paul reasoning as was his habit to do in the synagogue. Now, what book was he using to reason with them? Was he using the New Testament? NO, he was using the TORAH!!! On the Sabbath!!! <gasp!> Yes, the book of the Jews! The Old Testament! Hebrews 4:9 "There REMAINETH therefore, a rest to the people of YAHUAH.{rest: or, keeping of the sabbath} Here we have the Sabbath (day of rest) again mentioned and that it REMAINS. Hmmm... Remains- it STAYS 18 " For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, if any man shall add unto these things, YAHUAH shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, YAHUAH shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the set apart city, and from the things which are written in this book.{out of the book.... or, from the tree of life} 20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. But YAHUAH is a Mighty One of justice and the ENTIRE 66 books of the Scriptures is YAHUAH's legal testimony. He is SUPREME Judge! He hates injustice! It is a book of law, rules, guides and testimony. Proverbs 11:1 "A false balance is abomination to YAHUAH: but a just weight is His delight." 1 Kings 10:9 " Blessed be YAHUAH thy Mighty One, which delighted in thee, to set thee on the throne of Israel: because YAHUAH loved Israel forever, therefore made He thee king, to do judgement and justice." Psalms 89:14 : Justice and judgement are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face." Isaiah 58:2 Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their Mighty One: they ask of me the ordinances of justice, they take delight in approaching to YAHUAH.
